OK! OK! this is only a temporary page — as if you hadn't guessed!
I'm busy , but will get the new triosh web site up and running just as soon as........

triosh is an improvising trio playing a contemporary mix of mature grooves, finest funk, absorbing sounscapes, lyrical improvisations.
Most of the material is based around original compositions, although the occassional piece by Scofield, Monk, Coltrane, Miles and
Shorter are often thrown in to the mix. All of the material is a basis for improvising — we take it apart and embark on a unique journey,
different every time but always with feeling

Steve Howlett formed his improvising trio, triosh, in 2009 to perform a fund raising gig for the Sesiwn Fawr Appeal Fund.
After a hiatus of 15 months during which life put paid to further music making, the trio has a been resurrected with a fantastic new line up.

On drums and percussion is Gary Foote. Gary's been playing drums since the age of 11. At 20 he started playing saxophone
and has since been involved in music in every conceivable form — jazz, rock, dance, ambient, techno, folk, blues, ska, reggae, pop
and world music. Currently playing drums, percussion, sax and flute with Joan Armatrading, his other regular gigs are with British soul
legend Zoot Money and Jacqui McShee's Pentangle Amongst the many great musicians he's made music with are Jools Holland,
Jamiroquai, Tom Jones and The Bee Gees

Niall Ross plays tenor and soprano sax. For several years Niall was a member of the Grand Union Orchestra in London
playing alongside such jazz luminaries as Chris Biscoe,Tony Kofi and Claude Deppa. With Louise Elliot he was featured in a Radio 3
performance from Sadlers Wells. Played regularly with pianist Pete Beresford in various bands which included Dave Alexander, Lol Coxhill
and the great ska trombonist Rico Rodriguez. Niall has been involved in many styles of music including free improvisation, ska, world,
samba, Irish traditional, jazz, soul, disco & rock.

Steve Howlett plays guitar and effects and is probably best known as an award winning sculptor and wood turner.
He's played in various jazz & rock groups in west Wales, played with Damo Suzuki (wandering minstrel & former singer with Can)
and numerous times with Nik Turner (ex Hawkwind). In 2005 he formed a duo with world renowned improvising genius and jazz vocalist
Maggie Nicols and again with Maggie Nicols, formed the quartet Dynamite Dream............"Inventive wood shaper and music maker" Maggie Nicols.
